To the Energizer Members,
Recently, the Energizer Board completed their annual review of the capital plan
and operations budget. This review identified the facility would be operating at
a deficit by 2013.
The past and present Board members
have been very diligent in their stewardship of this not-for-profit facility.
The current $15 monthly fee has been in effect since 1997.
The value
provided is exceptional given the proximity and convenience of the facility, the
location in the river valley for outdoor enthusiasts, several classes are
included with membership, and the services offered.
However, cost increases for
equipment
replacement, equipment maintenance, facility cleaning, facility upgrades, and
contract fitness leaders has identified the need to increase membership fees. In
order for the Energizer to continue as a viable operation and maintain high
standards and quality for its members, the Board voted to increase membership
fees to $20 per month. The fee increase is effective February 1, 2012.
